Extension Cables

Extension cables for thermocouples are connector and/or extension lines, which are used to transfer thermoelectric voltages from the measuring point (thermocouple) to the junction (measuring instrument).

Type:
with and without screen

Jacket:

PVC, Teflon, Glassfiber

The materials of the wires are made of substitute materials, which are not identical to those of the corresponding thermocouple, but within the allowable temperature range, following DIN 43 722 that have the same thermoelectric properties. Ideally, the materials of the wires are the same as the thermocouple itself, then we speak of thermo cables, but this is usually not done for cost reasons. Extension cables are designed either with solid or stranded wires, with different numbers of wires, screens and insulation materials.

G class means that it is generally used at 100 °C, H class is used at higher temperatures of 200 °C.
All the data are calculated and in accordance to the International Standard IEC 584-3 from 1989.

RTD extension cable

RTD extension cables have copper wires and are used to extend PT100 sensors.

Example:
• 3-wire, stranded conductors 0.22 mm², insulation by PFA, stranded single cores surrounded with tinned copper braid wire
• Temperature ranges: Heat-resistant up to 260°C PFA
• Outer sheath: PFA white
• Available on rolls in lengths of 50m, 100m, 200m and 500m
